Title: Affection, confection
Pairing: SoonHoon
A/N: Basically, this is a drabble with Soonyoung on a suit and Jihoon on an apron just because the world needs more SoonHoon and I’m more than willing to contribute.

The framed picture of Jihoon on his working table had been his focus for a long time now, the stack of papers he needs to sign and the emails he needs to reply remains untouched. Soonyoung leans back, still thinking about his husband waiting for him back home.
Husband.
Such nice a thing to think. After all those hardship they experienced, they got through and now they’re here. With another heavy sigh, Soonyoung decided to pack up for the day. It’s still hours away from the end of the office hour but he figured he will not be able to do anything with Jihoon running in his mind the whole day. He knocks at the mahogany door of his father’s office then face him with a smile.
"Hey dad, you don’t mind me going home a little early today, do you?“ Soonyoung asked with a smile.
"Of course not.” The smile his father gave him somehow proud. “And happy anniversary to you and Jihoon.”
"You remembered!“ Soonyoung exclaimed, truly surprised.
"Of course I did. I’ve never seen you so happy than that day three years ago when you two exchanged vows.” Mr. Kwon said, smiling warmly at his son before shooing him out.
The pink apron that Junghan gave him as a joke is now covered with flour. Jihoon looks at the clock and kneads the white fondant carefully knowing he still has plenty of time in him before Soonyoung gets back from the office. The red velvet cake stuffed with cream cheese filling that he knows Soonyoung loves after making it once sits still on the side as Jihoon gets the fondant cover ready. He rolls the white sugar cover into sheet before putting it on the cake. He smooths it evenly like all those time in Junghan’s apartment weeks ago while preparing for their anniversary. He smiles seeing the perfectly covered cake and cuts off the excess fondant and dropping a blue food coloring on it before he starts kneading again. He takes out the letter cookie dough cutters he bought with the cake ingredients and started cutting letters on the sugar sheet. A smile broke on Jihoon’s lips as he started gluing down the ‘Happy Anniversary’ message with the remaining cream cheese.
With a satisfied smile, Jihoon placed the cake inside the refrigerator then takes out the ingredients for the main course of their dinner.
Jihoon may seem a little distant to everyone when Soonyoung first met him, but with patience and a lot of argument the older was able to break all the walls Jihoon had built around him and truly see the Jihoon that is caring, gets anxious easily, and afraid to get hurt and left alone; and these are the things Soonyoung love about him. Not his angelic voice, not his porcelain skin, not his beautiful eyes, not even the alluring smile, these, all of these are just add-ons to the whole Lee Jihoon, but what Soonyoung loves about Jihoon is his vulnerability. It reminds him that Jihoon is still a human, reminds him that Jihoon may be a perfectionist, but no one is actually perfect.
Jihoon is busy humming the song playing on his phone that he didn’t hear Soonyoung walking towards him. He jumped in surprise feeling the arms encircling his body. The older chuckles and nuzzle his nose on the side of the other’s neck. “So jumpy.” Soonyoung whispers and Jihoon turned around to smack him in the arms.
"Don’t do that!“ Jihoon smacks him again. “I’m cooking, you dimwit”
Soonyoung only smiled and takes the younger’s face between his palms and kiss Jihoon’s lips. Jihoon huffs and turn his back to his husband to continue cooking, afraid that if he gives in to Soonyoung they’ll end up either with a take out or a burned chicken curry. Soonyoung just chuckled at Jihoon’s action and mutter a low “cute” before hugging the younger again.
"Go and take a quick shower. This should be done soon.“ Jihoon said after a while, not really minding that his moves are being restricted by Soonyoung’s arms still looped around him and humming on his ears.
"Mhh'kay.” Soonyoung answers, then plant a chaste kiss on the left cheek of the younger.
The older was about to walk away from the busy Jihoon but his scarlet necktie was suddenly grabbed and his lips met the Jihoon’s thin, sweet ones. “Happy anniversary, Mr. Dumbbell.” Jihoon greets with a smile, lips grazing the other’s as he spoke. “Happy anniversary, Mr. Jihoon Kwon.” Soonyoung retaliates, and there it is again; the sweet, oh so sweet smile that Jihoon gives him every morning when they wake up, every night just after their traditional cuddle while watching a Disney movie, and every moment he catch Jihoon watching him. Soonyoung smile and think, the younger may not be as affectionate as anyone he knows, but when he gives Soonyoung effort, Jihoon really is a walking, breathing, living confectionery.
The ‘I do’ that Jihoon gave him three years ago will always be the best two words he will forever cherish and even if he would hear it a million times, there will still have butterflies flying around his stomach and Soonyoung, for the wealth in the world, would never have it any other way.
